Almshouses

There are two groups of almshouses in Buckingham.

Christ’s Hospital

Six one bedroom flats are located on Market Hill.  Behind the building’s listed façade, the ground and first floor flats have been refurbished to provide modern, light and airy accommodation of generous proportions. Buckingham’s shops, library, buses and other facilities are just a few yards away.

The refurbishment of Christ’s Hospital was completed early in 2014 and the beneficiaries were able to return to their flats from their temporary accommodation in Buckingham.



Barton’s Hospital

   

Six ground floor, bedsit apartments are located within the conservation area of Church Street, adjacent to the Radcliffe Centre and close to St Peter and St Paul’s church.  Each apartment has a rear garden. The Charity has recently refurbished these properties, to ensure that they meet all modern standards.
