After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Bob worked with a Big 4 firm in the UK and overseas for several years, initially as senior audit manager and later concentrating on providing comprehensive financial and accounting services to the SME sector, particularly smaller proprietorial companies. On returning to the UK he joined a start up manufacturing and marketing company in the paper handling equipment sector as business manager and financial director. With changing technologies and through their in-house R&D facilities, the company expanded to become the UK's leading manufacturer and exporter of PHE. Since retiring Bob has become more involved in local charities and a National Trust volunteer. Just after the BAWC refurbishment of Christ's Hospital he was asked to conduct a financial review of the Charity's finances following which he was invited to become a trustee, and now serves on the finance committee.
